Overview

The Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) and Noarlunga Health Service (NHS) Emergency Department is one of South Australia's largest and busiest networks. FMC is a tertiary ED offering high-quality care for various presentations, including major multi-trauma, paediatric, and life-threatening medical emergencies.

FMC ED is also the obstetric trauma centre for South Australia and a designated state trauma centre.

About the Role

As an Emergency Physician, you will be responsible for providing specialist-level care to patients in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team across all aspects of Emergency Care, including paediatrics, ambulatory, short-stay medicine, resus, and acute emergency medicine.

Your duties may include:

  • Providing clinical supervision to Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee Medical Officers, and Medical Students
  • Contributing to an after-hours on-call service in accordance with a roster agreed by the Department Director
  • Overseeing the smooth functioning of the clinical area when on shift

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
  • Appropriate Specialist Qualifications
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration
  • Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff
  • Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in an Emergency Department
