About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a Senior Structural Field Engineer to join our team at Airswift in a Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) 2:2 roster with site uplift.

Position: Senior Structural Field Engineer

Location: Remote Site

Project: Woodside Karratha Life Expansion

Indicative Term of Contract: 12 months

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide liaison with home office engineering team for the resolution of technical queries.
  • Review and sign off on Lift Plans to ensure compliance with engineering design.
  • Site review of civil installations, including pre-cast inspection, to ensure fitness for service.
  • Review inspection findings, assess fitness for service, and recommend refurbishment solutions.
  • Perform field job card / implementation reviews to ensure adherence to engineering design.
  • Review and site approval of as-built documents (Underground Services) to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain relationship with the Perth Engineering and Design team, influence design outcomes, and provide feedback on lessons learned.
  • Interpret, clarify, and provide guidance on engineering documentation and work scope in the field.
  • Interface with contractor on technical queries and provide technical response.
  • Submit and monitor Technical Deviation Requisition Queries (TDRQs) to ensure compliance.
  • Designated field focal point for resolution of Contractor Engineering queries.
  • Liaise with facility engineers and technical authorities to ensure seamless communication.
  • Manage Inspection and Engineering data, and maintain quality checks between SOW and execution job cards.
  • Provide progress status reports to management, including graphs, statistics, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Answer queries from inspection services contractor, implementation contractor, client, or other Worley personnel on scope, findings, and progress.
  • Documentation writing (Basis of Design, Implementation guidelines, Engineering Guidelines, etc.) to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Sign off on Red Line Mark Ups and As-Builts as Site Approver as required.
  • Create and resolve site queries and develop and manage Site Actioned Engineering Deliverables.
  • Provide and adhere to a proactive safety culture and approach to Continuous Improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Structural/Civil Engineering degree.
  • Relevant experience in structural engineering design in brownfield environment.
  • Previous experience with performing site inspections will be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A person of integrity who is trusted by others and consistently honours their commitments.
  • Able to identify issues, problems, and opportunities; make timely decisions; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and seek assistance as required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make presentations when required.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.
  • Able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.
  • Demonstrate HSE capability in similar industry.
  • A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Good working experience in an operating LNG Plant or Refinery.
  • Knowledge in structural Metallurgy/Welding, Corrosion, and Knowledge of Woodside standards & systems knowledge is desirable but not essential.
  • Familiar with using Australian design codes including AS3600, AS4100, AS1170.
  • Agile with working in multiple platforms and environment, including the use of 365 suite and various other collaboration tools.
  • Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and 3D Model viewers.
