Job Opportunity:
The Project Buyer RoleThis key position plays a critical role in the successful delivery of construction projects. As a highly organized and detail-oriented individual, you will ensure efficient procurement of goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify authorization on purchase requisitions and other relevant documents to ensure compliance.
- Request quotations, evaluate bids, negotiate, and assess proposals from suppliers and contractors to secure best value.
- Negotiate and award purchase orders for various goods and services, including spare parts, capital equipment, consultancy agreements, rental or lease agreements, and lower-level contracts.
- Ensure RFQ summaries and purchase order documents are accurate and professionally prepared to minimize errors.
- Proactively manage departmental purchase orders to meet deadlines and optimize resource allocation.
- Assist with invoice queries to facilitate prompt payment to vendors.
- Effectively utilize computerized procurement and materials management systems to monitor contractor/supplier performance.
- Resolve problems related to resource allocation priorities, time constraints, contracts, vendor performance, payment release, transport, and logistics.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in project procurement/supply chain management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Preferrable Qualifications:
- Understanding of supply chain processes and complexities.
- Experience in oil and gas, chemical processing, or mining and manufacturing industry.
- Basic understanding of account processing and related ERP modules/systems.
