Incident and Problem Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Incident and Problem Manager to join our Canberra team. As a key member of our technical hub, you will be responsible for providing incident and problem management services to our clients, who deliver a whole-of-government federated information sharing and analysis environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake daily health checks of the customer system, ensuring its stability and performance.
- Coordinate problem diagnosis and resolution, working closely with the incident management team to deliver interim and permanent solutions.
- Provide expert guidance on governance, incident management, and problem management frameworks, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, legislation, and regulations.
- Analyze incidents and problems, delivering post-incident and post-problem reviews to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage the problem queue, updating status and keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
- Research emerging incident and problem trends, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with the project team to resolve problems and implement fixes.
- Respond to service incidents, identifying causes and initiating the incident management process.
- Prioritize incidents based on urgency and business impact.
- Work with the Security Manager to ensure security incidents are managed in accordance with department policy.
- Manage the helpdesk queue, ensuring tickets are resolved according to agreed SLAs.
- Responsible for all aspects of incident diagnosis and resolution.
- Manage the incident queue, updating status and keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
- Participate in the on-call roster, providing 24/7 incident assistance to the department.
- Adjust incident management and problem management processes as needed to ensure effectiveness.
About You
- Approachable, supportive, and can-do attitude.
- Great stakeholder management, with the ability to build and maintain working relationships.
- Expertise in governance, incident management, and problem management frameworks.
- Excellent conceptual ability, with skills in analysis and problem-solving.
- Experience with incident and problem management, and delivering post-problem reviews.
- Experience with Service Now Incident and Problem Management processes.
- Aptitude for picking up new technologies and procedures.
- Experience working within the ITIL framework.
