Early Childhood Education Position

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team in implementing the Early Learning Centre's curriculum. As an early childhood educator, you will be responsible for mentoring and supporting colleagues towards achieving strategic objectives.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Implement the Early Learning Centre's curriculum in consultation with the Educational Leader.
    • Mentor and support colleagues towards achieving strategic objectives.
    • Assess children and evaluate learning with the Educational Leader/Room Leader and Team.
    • Collaborate and communicate with parents/families.
    • Plan, prepare and implement appropriate learning programs and environments for children.
    • Work within a legal and ethical framework based on NQS and national regulations.
    • Attend staff meetings and take an active part in critical reflections about professional practice and pedagogical strategies.

Requirements:

  • A committed Christian with a deep desire to serve Jesus Christ as Lord.
  • Demonstrated passion for biblically-based Christian education.
  • Commitment to the Christian ethos of the College and the Statement of Faith.
  • A personal commitment to the Emmaus Vision, Mission and Values underpinning the delivery of a Christian based education to children.
  • Diploma in Children's Services approved by ACECQA (or working towards).
  • Understanding and knowledge of the standards set by the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Ability to cope effectively under pressure in an emergency or stressful situation.
  • Thorough understanding and implementation of a play-based curriculum.
  • Competent computer skills to manage documentation and use technology tools to support learning.
  • Behaviour management skills reflecting restorative practices and the ability to develop and demonstrate positive behaviour strategies and support children's learning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly.
