Job Overview:

This role leads the integrated family violence service system in a Northern Metropolitan sub-region, supporting victim survivors of family violence including children, cisgender heterosexual women and people from the LGBTIQ+ community.

The service provides specialist family violence programs to support victim survivors and their children addressing emotional and practical needs arising from family violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide response to victim survivors at risk, ongoing assessment of family violence risk
  • Safety planning
  • Assertive engagement
  • Outreach
  • Extensive advocacy and referrals within the service system

Requirements:

To be successful you will have a commitment to quality outcomes for victim survivors and their children involved in our programs. In addition, you will have:

  • A minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or recent employment in the family violence sector
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Integrated Family Violence Service System
  • Knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and the Common Risk Assessment Framework, MARAM

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to speak a language in addition to English
  • Previous experience working with victim survivors of family violence
  • Previous experience in family violence risk-assessment and safety planning
