Empower Young Leaders in Football Communities

This unique initiative blends sport, leadership, and personal development for young people aged up to 19 connected to local football clubs.

Through interactive workshops, outdoor activities hosted by guest mentors, and leadership training, participants will grow their confidence, develop their voice, and give back to the game they love.

Your Role

  • Engage and coordinate young participants to attend workshops and advisory sessions.
  • Connect with young people to ensure they feel heard, motivated, and empowered.
  • Facilitate youth-led discussions and co-create meaningful program experiences.
  • Build strong connections through in-person engagement and creative communications.
  • Provide administrative support such as workshop catering and data tracking.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote youth voice within local football communities.

About You

We're looking for someone who has a passion for community sport and leadership development, and who enjoys connecting with young people and creating positive change within the community.

You'll bring:

  • An understanding of the local footy landscape and want to make it stronger for the next generation.
  • Lived experience with the challenges young people face in education, identity, or community belonging.
  • Experience in engaging with young people (e.g. youth work, coaching, mentoring).
  • A creative, energetic presence that young people can relate to and feel inspired by.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to manage time, work independently, and juggle competing priorities.
  • Confidence in planning and delivering events or workshops and leading conversations with peers.
