Offshore Chemist

The Offshore Chemist will report directly to the Account Manager. As an Offshore Chemist, you'll handle all offshore production chemical programs and undertake hydrocarbon, water, and gas sampling. You will deal with customer requirements in a professional manner to deliver the highest levels of service, safety, and compliance.

• Program Monitoring: Monitor all offshore production chemical programs to assess the impact on production, integrity, and environmental parameters.
• Optimization and Sampling: Perform ongoing optimization of production chemical programs and undertake hydrocarbon, water, and gas sampling for routine laboratory analysis following approved procedures.
• Laboratory Analysis: Perform laboratory analysis of hydrocarbon, water, and gas samples following approved procedures.
• Inventory Management: Maintain laboratory equipment, record keeping, and managing site inventories of production and laboratory chemicals.
• Troubleshooting: Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosis of production upsets and issues.
• Field Trials: Undertake chemical field trials as required contribution to overall production.
• Communication: Liaise with field Operational personnel to communicate daily tasks and progress status of longer-term activities.
• Reporting: Prepare daily/monthly production chemistry reports as required.
• Safety and Compliance: Implement and follow the company and client's safety policy and procedures.

• Qualifications: Be qualified as a laboratory chemist (degree, diploma, or equivalent industry experience).
• Experience: Have minimum 3 years of experience in oil and gas or similar process chemistry position (preferred).
• Knowledge: Have proficient knowledge of application of production chemicals (preferred).
• Understanding: Have understanding of production processes and systems from downhole to pipeline distribution.
• Computer Skills: Have proficient use of computer-based programs related to application of products.
• Communication Skills: Have ability to work and communicate well with others.
• HSE Focus: Have good focus on all aspects of HSE.
• Location: Be based in Perth, Western Australia.
• Driver's License: Have clean Australian Driver's License (manual vehicle).
