Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and report trends to the project management team, providing timely and accurate cost and schedule impact assessments.
- Develop and implement project requirements for cost control, ensuring compliance with Bechtel's trend process and subcontractor requirements.
- Assist in the analysis of change-related initiatives and work planning, requiring detailed change assessment and response planning efforts.
- Support the overall trend program schedule and initiate trend focus meetings through cooperation with all disciplines.
- Prepare and analyze cost estimates, performing productivity analysis of construction operations and verifying results.
- Develop innovative techniques to meet specific needs, utilizing historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.
- Responsible for trend evaluations, verifying consistency with previous reports and issuing reports required by management and project procedures.
- Monitor project development, flagging deviations from budget and preparing and evaluating trends.
- Assist in developing unit job-hour and pricing data for specific disciplines or specialties.
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of estimating methods, processes, and procedures.
- Experience in quantity takeoffs, statistical analysis, and cost and price analysis.
- Skilled in understanding and implementing technical discipline processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical and financial reports.
- Thorough understanding of cost indices and escalation projection sources.
- Ability to understand and contribute to risk and contingency assessments.
- Skilled in oral and written communications, including presentation skills and ability to address the project management team.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and complex graphs.
- Knowledge of Bechtel's internal estimating software, BETK, and how to conform estimate details into budgets for packages.
