Embark on a Life-Changing Gap Year Experience

Are you ready for a challenge that will push you to your limits and beyond? Our Infantry Soldier Gap Year program is the perfect opportunity to gain valuable skills, experience, and a sense of adventure.

Training and Development

During your 9-week recruit training at Kapooka in Wagga Wagga, NSW, you'll undergo rigorous physical training, learn weapon handling and shooting, first aid, drill, and field craft. This will prepare you for the demands of military life and set you up for success in your future career.

Specialized Training

After completing your initial military training, you'll attend the School of Infantry, Singleton, NSW, where you'll learn infantry tactics, weapons, and equipment to engage in close quarters battle in the field and urban environments. You'll also develop your skills in shooting, moving, and communicating as part of a highly skilled team.

Real-World Experience

Once you've completed your initial employment training, you'll be assigned to an Army unit where you'll have the opportunity to apply your new skills in a real-world setting. You'll work alongside experienced soldiers, make lifelong friends, and gain a sense of camaraderie and belonging.

Future Opportunities

After completing your Gap Year program, you'll have the option to continue your career in the Army or use the skills and experiences you've gained to pursue other career opportunities. There's no obligation to serve beyond the one-year program period, giving you the freedom to choose your next steps.
