Job Summary

The Regional Sports Venue Manager will oversee a team at a prominent sporting and hospitality venue, making a positive impact on the local community. This is a full-time role with opportunities for growth and professional development.

This role requires experience in managing large-scale hospitality and sports venues with food and beverage operations. The successful candidate will lead the venue's operational, financial, and program deliverables through effective engagement with stakeholders and staff members.

About the Role

The Venue Manager of the York Recreation & Convention Centre and the Forrest Bar & Cafe will be responsible for day-to-day management, including staff supervision, customer service, and event coordination. You will develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance the overall guest experience.

This position suits someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with local patrons and sporting clubs, and driving business results through innovation and creativity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a multi-faceted hospitality, sports, and leisure venue
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing team

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in managing large hospitality and/or sports venues
  • Financial acumen with control of costs, wages, and expenses
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of modern technology systems (POS, Office 365)
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation
  • Experience in planning and executing operational, financial, and people plans to successful outcomes
  • Approved Managers Card
  • RSA
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate (Level 2)
  • National Police Check
