We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join our team.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees nationally. They will be involved in developing, implementing, and maintaining WHS policies, procedures, and programs that align with legislative requirements and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the management of safety activities of the WHS team.
- Conducting risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and recommending risk mitigation measures.
- Providing training and education to employees on health, safety, and wellness topics, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
- Assisting in investigations of workplace incidents and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports on health and safety metrics using Microsoft office apps.
- Staying up to date with changes in relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
- Assisting in conducting site inspections and providing feedback and recommendations to management to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Requirements:
- A minimum of Cert III or IV qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or similar qualifications.
- Relevant experience as a WHS Coordinator in a multifaceted organisation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
