Lead Insurance Underwriter

The Underwriting Supervisor will lead the underwriting team, focusing on ensuring effective servicing of broker partners. This role acts as a key position in establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure underwriters achieve productivity and turnaround time/service-based targets.
- Maintain strong relationships with broker partners, serving as a point of contact and escalation for underwriting service-related matters.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver business objectives.
- Analyze reports to ensure the underwriting team meets required targets.
- Leadership and support experience, along with expertise and technical knowledge in insurance, either in underwriting or broking.
- In-depth understanding of legislation and policy frameworks.
- Advanced consultation, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Strong track record of stakeholder management and engagement.
- Effective leadership skills, experience in training and developing staff to deliver high-level service, lead and motivate teams, establish priorities, and manage competing deadlines.
