Our team at Mytra is developing cutting-edge warehouse automation based on physics-driven design principles. We seek an accomplished Electromechanical Systems Controls Specialist to craft and implement sophisticated motion control systems that integrate sensing, perception, and actuation into reliable, high-performance robotic platforms.

Main Responsibilities

  • Create motion control frameworks for multi-axis robotic systems, including actuator control, trajectory generation, and dynamic path execution.
  • Develop communication architectures for distributed controllers, sensors, and actuators, utilizing pub/sub messaging frameworks (e.g., NATS, ROS2, custom protocols).
  • Design and refine control algorithms for position, velocity, torque, and force control, leveraging model-based techniques and Kalman filter–based state estimation.
  • Lead sensor fusion and localization efforts to ensure robust, real-time state estimation in simulated and physical environments.
  • Select and calibrate motor and sensor strategies to meet performance, safety, and scalability requirements.
  • Build and maintain simulation and automated test tools to prototype new control strategies, validate them in CI/CD, and translate them into production-ready implementations.
  • Iterate between simulation and hardware testing to diagnose corner cases, improve algorithms, and ensure robustness in diverse real-world conditions.
  • Deliver high-quality, maintainable code in C++ and Python for real-time and high-level control systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong foundation in control theory, kinematics, dynamics, and system modeling for electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Python for embedded and high-level control software.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance control system complexity with simplicity, elegance, and robustness in production implementations.
  • Experience with motor control (BLDC, stepper, servo), sensor integration (e.g. encoders, IMUs, cameras), and real-time operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS, RT Linux, Zephyr).
  • Familiarity with CAN, pub/sub communication frameworks, distributed control architectures, and safety-critical system design standards (ISO 13849, IEC 61508).
  • Ability to debug and optimize complex electromechanical systems with limited telemetry, using both software and hardware tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in approaching challenges with a physics-based, first-principles mindset to develop innovative solutions.
