We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager - Manufacturing to lead our manufacturing operations across Australia. Key Responsibilities- Oversee the operational efficiency of manufacturing sites across Australia
- Recruit, direct, and develop senior site management teams
- Ensure peak operational efficiency while maintaining quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Collaborate with Site Managers to develop and implement best manufacturing practices
- Manage plant hygiene, maintenance, and environmental compliance at all sites
- Lead and guide the Manufacturing staff, fostering a positive and proactive team culture
- Work closely with sales, technical, and SHEQ teams to develop new products and improve processes
- Ensure compliance with all relevant state and local regulations, including OH&S and environmental laws
- Implement and monitor cost controls and production efficiency against budget and forecast
- Lead capital expenditure projects, including evaluating and implementing proposals
- Develop and maintain inventory control systems and procurement protocols
- Provide detailed monthly reports to the Group CEO on financial performance, site activities, and compliance issues
To be successful in this role, you will need a tertiary degree in agriculture, business, or a related field, along with at least 10 years of senior management experience in the stock feed, food, or agricultural manufacturing industries. A deep understanding of nutrition and product knowledge within the stock feed and agriculture sector is also essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Strong experience in people management and team development
- Proficiency in ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 or SAP
- Proven track record in leading manufacturing teams with a focus on process implementation and maintenance
- Exceptional commercial acumen and a strategic mindset
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and practices, including OH&S, with a commitment to leading by example
- Hands-on management style, with the ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic, multi-site environment
- Experience managing multi-site operations with a focus on compliance, including Feed Safe accreditation
