Solicitor - Health Law Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Solicitor to join our legal team in the field of health law.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a variety of medical defence matters, providing high-quality advice and services to our clients. The role involves working closely with medical practitioners, insurance claims managers, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and effective legal advice and services in respect of medical defence matters.
  • Deliver general medico-legal advice to our clients.
  • Apear on behalf of medical practitioners before relevant tribunals and courts.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary legal qualifications.
  • Eligible to hold an unsupervised practising certificate as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.
  • Demonstrated post-admission experience in private practice (ideally 2-4 years PQE) in medical negligence, professional conduct-related litigation is preferred.
  • Previous experience in conducting all phases of litigation and/or professional conduct cases.
  • Previous experience in employment law is an advantage.
  • The ability to express ideas effectively with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high level of prioritisation, time management, and self-management skills.
  • The ability to mentor and support junior team members.
  • Good computer literacy and competency to work in an electronic document management environment.
