Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled City Planner to lead our planning team. As the Principal Planner, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality planning outcomes that align with our strategic objectives and statutory responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Implement the Statutory Planning functions of Council and provide an efficient, accurate and effective service to the community.
  • Process complex permit applications within the statutory framework of State planning legislation to guarantee an efficient, high quality and professional planning service is provided.
  • Provide professional and efficient analysis and advice on planning applications, planning scheme requirements and policies to the public and planning applicants.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency and compliance.
  • Actively contribute to the development of an integrated and efficient streamlined development approvals system.

Requirements
  • Highly developed leadership and expertise in city planning, including experience in leading teams and developing business strategies.
  • Proven track record of providing high-quality planning outcomes and contributing to the delivery of organisational objectives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience in effectively representing the Council in complex planning matters.
  • Ability to drive process improvements and develop new systems to enhance efficiency and consistency.
