Key Responsibilities:

The Credit Risk Policy Manager will support the Executive Manager and Service Owner in optimizing mortgage credit policy and managing policy change initiatives.

The role will work collaboratively with the 2nd line Credit Risk team, Mortgages Product village, and broader Mortgages business teams and stakeholders to ensure effective credit risk portfolio management and appetite is maintained.

Some key accountabilities include:

  • Impact assessment: reviewing and assessing policy change initiatives
  • Critical analysis: identifying, evaluating, and interrogating relevant credit risk data and analytics
  • Communication: clearly summarizing and articulating recommendations for key decision makers
  • Stakeholder management: providing expert advice and support to legal, compliance, and business stakeholders
  • Change execution: supporting the development of clear credit system requirements and compiling concise requests for policy changes

Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, or Banking and Finance

Experience working directly in or supporting a mortgage business (essential)

Experience in credit risk management, including policy, process, systems, and controls

Advanced knowledge of the mortgage and credit regulatory and compliance environment

Demonstrated strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

Demonstrated ability to build and strengthen relationships with various stakeholders
