About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investigator to join our Planning and Compliance team at Hume City Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with planning regulations and laws, and contributing to the delivery of successful outcomes for our environment and community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead investigations into planning matters, including environmental planning and enforcement
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to ensure compliance with planning regulations and laws
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community groups, developers, and other government agencies
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on planning and compliance matters
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to planning and compliance
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in planning, investigations, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in investigations, particularly in environmental planning and enforcement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, facilitation, and presentation abilities
  • Deep understanding of local government operations and awareness of issues at both the local and state levels
  • Experience in planning areas, particularly environmental planning
