About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our aviation maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our DHC 8 Classic aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety First: Hold safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a Zero Harm and an incident/injury-free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position.
  • Aircraft Maintenance: Perform the duties of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, ensuring all aircraft maintenance is carried out in line with the Aircraft Maintenance manuals, MOE, procedures manuals, and responsible CAMO requirements.
  • Hangar and Workshop Maintenance: Be responsible for the general condition and upkeep of the hangar and workshop.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance to the FRMS and WHSMSM policies and procedures, and report any defects found during maintenance to the certifying engineer.
  • Team Player: Proven ability to work in a team environment, with sound communication and troubleshooting skills.
Requirements
  • Australian Citizen
  • Willing to relocate to Darwin if not already a resident
  • Hold a Part 66 license or be close to licensing
  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills
Desirable Criteria
  • Both line maintenance and heavy maintenance experience
  • Cert IV Aeroskills – Mechanical
  • Dash 8 Experience
  • Confined space training
  • Current first aid Certificate
  • Forklift license
