Job Overview

In this key position, you will work with our Midwifery Service at Mount Isa Hospital, delivering expert lactation care and education to women, families and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support breastfeeding
  • Provide individualised lactation consultations and education sessions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance breastfeeding outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Tertiary degree qualification in a relevant field
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Registered Midwife (RM)
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification
  • Postgraduate qualification or currently enrolled in a relevant area of study (highly desirable)
