Job Title: Breastfeeding Specialist

This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to improving healthcare outcomes for North West communities.

  • Work as part of the Mount Isa Hospital Midwifery Service, providing specialized breastfeeding support to women and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Protect, promote and support breastfeeding through education and awareness-raising activities.
  • Provide lactation and artificially feeding guidance to new mothers, families and healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary degree qualification in nursing or midwifery.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Registered Midwife (RM).
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area of study are highly desirable.
