About the Role

As a Senior Commissioning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of electrical and control systems on a major rail/metro infrastructure project.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to join our team and utilize their expertise in planning, coordinating, executing, and documenting testing and commissioning activities.

The successful candidate will lead on-site commissioning activities for systems such as LV distribution, Building Management Control Systems (BMCS), Access Control and Intruder Detection Systems, tunnel ventilation controls, fire detection, and emergency systems.

You will be responsible for ensuring functional, integration, and system performance testing is executed in line with approved procedures. Additionally, you will monitor progress and resolve technical or scheduling issues to prevent delays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning & Coordination: Develop, review, and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for electrical and control systems.
  • Execution & Supervision: Lead on-site commissioning activities for systems including LV distribution, BMCS, Access Control and Intruder Detection Systems, tunnel ventilation controls, fire detection, and emergency systems.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all commissioning activities are conducted in accordance with WHS legislation, rail safety standards, and environmental requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8–10 years' experience in testing and commissioning of electrical and control systems in rail, metro, or heavy infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of low voltage power systems, SCADA, PLCs, and integrated control systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian rail safety standards, Tf NSW technical specifications, and AS/NZS standards.
