Embark on a groundbreaking journey as a researcher in a science education project that measures the impact of teacher upskilling in Einsteinian Science on STEM subject choices and career outcomes.
This exciting opportunity is available for PhD, EdD or Masters by Research students to examine factors influencing the impact of professional development and its dissemination to other teachers in Einsteinian physics through micro-credential courses.
- Evaluation and Optimisation of Professional Development Programs: Conduct an in-depth analysis of how Grade 3 to Grade 10 students respond to learning Einsteinian physics when delivered by an upskilled teacher.
- Evaluation of Students' Conceptual Understanding and Attitudes Towards Modern Physics Concepts: Track primary and secondary students to evaluate how their attitudes change as they advance through year levels and assess the impact of teaching Einsteinian physics on their career choices in STEM.
As a key member of this research team, you will help create a revolutionary new school curriculum consistent with our modern understanding of the universe and focused on innovations needed to face future challenges.
Research will take place in various locations, and postgraduate positions can be supported at participating universities. Students will need to identify a relevant topic and separately enrol in Masters or Doctoral programs.
RequirementsAustralian permanent residents must satisfy entrance requirements for postgraduate enrolment, ideally including ability to secure a scholarship at one of the participating universities.
Non-Australian residents are liable for international student fees unless exceptional students with several international publications secure an IPRS scholarship.
