About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our thriving Brisbane office, where you will be responsible for researching, developing, and designing electrical equipment, systems, and networks for engineering projects in our Water Division.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work under the general direction of a Senior Engineer and be responsible for small projects or parts of projects requiring a sound knowledge of electrical engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical engineering design, including modelling, engineering drawings, calculations, reports, and design criteria to support electrical engineering projects.
  • Perform calculations to analyze and design electrical systems using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Assist in the evaluation and selection of electrical systems and materials and the development of electrical specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of electrical systems, through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project documents, client presentations, client contact, and communication pertaining to specific project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
  • Prepare electrical engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
  • Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to requests for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other contract administration tasks.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical.
  • Between 6 to 10 years' experience in a similar position with well-rounded experience in Water and Wastewater projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in LV and MV power systems in Australia.
  • Experience with CAD and power engineering software tools.
  • Highly developed consulting skills to liaise with clients and other stakeholders to achieve mutually successful project outcomes.
  • Be working towards or have achieved CPEng and RPEQ status.
  • Be willing to offer mentorship to junior engineers based on appropriate level of knowledge.
