Job Title: Senior Officer - Vessel Operations

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maritime operations and be able to lead a team of officers in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a vessel. They will be responsible for managing the vessel's activities, implementing safety protocols, and maintaining high standards of environmental sustainability.



Responsibilities:
  • Safe Operation: Ensure the safe operation of the vessel at all times, adhering to international safety regulations and company policies.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Implement measures to prevent pollution of the environment and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Leadership: Lead a team of officers in achieving operational goals and objectives.
  • Crew Management: Manage and coordinate the activities of crew members to ensure efficient and effective vessel operation.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master COC/COR Unlimited issued by AMSA;
  • At least 5 years' sea time as a Chief Officer;
  • STCW regulation II/2 certification;
  • MSIC Card; ECDIS and GMDSS training;
  • Certificate of Safety Training;
  • Australian citizenship or valid working visa without restrictions;
  • Living in an Australian state;
  • Pilotage Exemption Certificate for Port of Melbourne or Port of Davenport (desirable).
