Job Description

This role involves working sensitively and respectfully with families, addressing safety and well-being concerns. The position requires collaboration with other agencies to develop safety plans and complete risk assessments.

The caseworker will manage complex situations involving high needs and high-risk clients and their families. They will also be involved in court processes, including the preparation of court documents and attending court proceedings.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be a successful Aboriginal Child Protection Caseworker, you should have:

  • A relevant diploma or degree qualification in social work, child protection, or a related field.
  • At least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with families, other agencies, and stakeholders.
  • A valid driver's licence and paid working with children clearance number.
  • Documented verification of Aboriginality.
