About the Role

You will use hand-welding equipment and semi-automated equipment to weld or join metal construction and fabrication components safely, to quality and time specifications and standards.

In this role, you will read drawings, work orders and production schedules to determine product or job instructions and specifications. You will also competently and safely operate welding equipment to the required specifications and Australian Standard.

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Read drawings, work orders and production schedules to determine product or job instructions and specifications;
2. Competently and safely operate welding equipment to the required specifications and Australian Standard;
3. Competently set up and operate hand and power tools common to the fabrication trade;
4. Label and sort manufactured plate material into product groups;
5. Mark-out, cut/drill/punch holes as required for plate material in accordance with fabrication drawings;
6. Layout, position, align and assemble components together in accordance with fabrication drawings and tolerances;
7. Mechanical cutting of steel and compiling of cutting lists from fabrication drawings;
8. Measure and cut raw materials with straightedges and high accuracy;
9. Move steel in workshop with forklift (where licensed and authorised);
10. Transfer fabricated components between production departments in accordance with production schedules;
11. Perform general housekeeping and maintenance of work areas, equipment, tools and facilities;
12. Safely and efficiently undertake all other duties in the workshop as instructed by the Fabrication Supervisor.

Salary: AU$80,000 - AU$110,000 per annum
