Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Underground HD Fitter/Technician to join our team in Burkina Faso. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the local workforce develops their skills and knowledge by sharing their experience and being a role model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled servicing to mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to procedures, regulations, and service sheets.
  • Mentor and develop national trades personnel, promoting a culture of excellence and safety.
  • Utilize expertise to minimize downtime on machinery, ensuring optimal performance and productivity.
  • Record and report maintenance activities accurately, maintaining a high level of housekeeping in workshops and working areas.
  • Read and interpret service and spare parts manuals, staying up-to-date with the latest equipment and technologies.
  • Report equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling into the workshop weekly planning.
Requirements
  • A demonstrated passion for safety and a proactive attitude towards ensuring safety is paramount for all employees.
  • Experience in training less qualified tradespeople to a high standard in a high-productivity underground contracting mining environment.
  • Strong background working with latest generation SANDVIK, CAT, and Atlas underground mobile equipment and associated automation systems.
  • At least 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience working within the underground mining industry on large mobile equipment.
  • High degree of knowledge and skill in troubleshooting problems on electric hydraulic drilling equipment.
  • Good knowledge of loader and truck maintenance.
  • Competent in Auto Electrics, Hydraulic Circuit Schematics, and Diesel engine maintenance.
  • A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent service and maintenance approach to the job.
  • International Driver's License.
