As a key member of the Funding and Markets Division, the Principal Dealer Funding and Liquidity will play a pivotal role in planning and delivering WATC's funding strategy. This involves ensuring the organization has access to domestic and global capital markets to meet its debt servicing obligations and client funding requirements.

", "Key Responsibilities": "
  • Leadership across the Funding and Markets Division on the analysis and development of multi-year funding plans.
  • Management of WATC's multi-billion-dollar debt portfolio through the issuance and trading of WATC term debt including AUD Benchmark Bonds, Non-Benchmark Bonds and Floating Rate Notes.
  • Undertake associated derivative transactions as required to meet portfolio hedging requirements or for the setting of client specific orders.
  • Oversee the management of WATC's own source liquidity and long-term liquid asset portfolio.
  • Provide market strategy recommendations in the development of borrowing programs and in resolving complex portfolio management and market support issues.
  • Leadership of research in financial market conditions, trends and emerging issues that may shape future WATC funding strategies.
  • Manage relationships with the WATC Fixed Income Distribution Group, including debt capital markets specialists relevant to WATC's funding task.
  • Build, nurture, and manage new and existing relationships with key investor groups.
  • Supervising the development and activities of business unit staff in delivering on core objectives and WATC strategic initiatives.

  • Demonstrated experience in assessing, coordinating and executing capital markets transactions, e.g. bonds and floating rate notes.
  • Experience and deep understanding across funding markets, domestic and global.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Well-developed knowledge of portfolio management and lending arrangements.
  • Well-developed knowledge of derivative markets and market dealing activities.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, LSEG (Refinitiv) and Bloomberg market systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to share information in a simple and effective manner for stakeholders with different degrees of sophistication.
  • Willingness to learn, to be open to others' opinions and to engage in constructive debate.
