About Us

We're seeking a seasoned software engineer to spearhead the optimization of Ubuntu on cutting-edge hardware and software stacks.

Your expertise will be pivotal in crafting exceptional user experiences for our customers. You'll work closely with partners to deliver top-notch, optimized solutions that exceed expectations.

This role requires a holistic approach to ensuring seamless integration of Ubuntu across various platforms. Your attention to detail and technical acumen will enable you to develop comprehensive plans, implement effective testing strategies, and establish quality metrics.

You'll also contribute as a technical lead on complex customer engagements, driving complete system architectures from cloud to edge. Additionally, you'll assist customers in integrating their applications, SDKs, building device OS images, and optimizing apps with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server.

As part of our team, you'll have access to the latest operating systems and application technologies in the enterprise world.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Significant experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto)
  • Experience working with open source communities and licenses
  • Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a globally distributed team
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with graphics stacks
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP/REST)
  • Familiarity with security best practices in IoT and server environments
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking experience
  • IoT/embedded experience, from board and SoC to OS and apps
  • Some experience with Docker/OCI containers/K8s
