Telehealth Medical Practitioner Job Description

As a telehealth medical practitioner, you will be delivering high-quality care to patients across Australia through remote consultations. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently.

The successful candidate will possess current registration with AHPRA, MBBS or equivalent qualifications, and experience in emergency medicine or similar fields.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Delivering high-quality telehealth consultations to diverse patient groups.
  2. Managing clinical assessments, prescriptions (S4 & S8), and follow-up consults.
  3. Working closely with nurses and doctor support teams to streamline patient care.
  4. Maintaining complete documentation and compliance within a digital environment.
  5. Contribute to clinical training, peer education, and governance initiatives.
  6. Operating effectively within a structured roster with peak-hour availability.

Preferred qualifications include experience in emergency, urgent care, high-volume general practice, or telehealth settings. Additionally, familiarity with privacy laws, RTPM, S8 regulation, and medico-legal obligations is highly regarded.
