Seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead network and security initiatives within a large federal government department.

Job Overview

As a senior network engineer, you will be responsible for designing, evaluating, and implementing infrastructure requirements to meet future demands. This includes providing expert technical support for project build, test, and solution deployment activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implementation
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including design documentation, implementation plans, test plans, and support procedures.
  • Technical Expertise
  • Provide detailed, specialist technical advice, including strategic advice to senior executives.
  • Collaboration and Communication
  • Engage and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability.
Requirements:
  • Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in designing, managing, and maintaining internet gateway and/or large-scale data centre networking environments.
  • Technical Proficiency
  • Technical proficiency in designing services utilising F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching/load balancing and proxy systems.
  • Cisco Technologies
  • Experience in designing and deploying network infrastructure, including Cisco Data Centre technologies like Cisco ACI, Cisco Routers, Nexus switches, routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.
  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Experience with and/or detailed understanding of Palo Alto firewalls and IPS Solutions.
  • Cloud Services
  • Experience in designing and integrating hybrid and public cloud services.
  • Australian Government Policies
  • Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of Australian Government information security policies, the ASD Information Security Manual, and Essential Eight.
