We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at Rockhampton Hospital, a 305-bed facility and the main referral hospital for Central Queensland. As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Anaesthesia services are delivered safely, reliably, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality Anaesthesia services, both clinical and administrative, in accordance with commonly accepted good clinical practice and ANZCA Guidelines.
- Conduct acute pain service ward rounds, pre-anaesthetic assessment clinics, and anaesthesia for various surgical procedures, including endoscopy, general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics, gynaecology, urology, ophthalmology, Ear Nose and Throat, dental, and investigative services.
- Participate in the after-hours and weekend on-call roster for the Department of Anaesthesia.
- Collaborate with the Rockhampton Director of Anaesthesia to ensure the delivery of high-quality Anaesthesia services.
Rockhampton Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility with four operating theatres and two procedure rooms, supported by an 8-bed ICU/HDU. The Department of Anaesthesia is accredited for specialist training and is involved in teaching and research.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to be a registered specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College for Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or equivalent. You will also need to have completed your training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, or New Zealand.
