We are seeking skilled professionals to join our team as Medical Laboratory Assistants in Pathology Collections.


This role supports high-quality patient care through specimen collection and preparation. The positions include permanent part-time, temporary part-time, and casual roles, offering flexibility.


In this patient-focused role, you will perform venepuncture, interact with patients and staff, and ensure the smooth operation of the pathology service. It's a great opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced hospital environment and make a difference in patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to a customer-focused pathology collection service across inpatient, outpatient, and home care settings.
  2. Provide high-quality healthcare to referrers and consumers.
  3. Perform venepuncture, specimen collection, data entry, processing, and delivery for pathology investigations.

Requirements
  • Certificate III in Pathology Collections or equivalent qualification.
  • Customer service skills and effective communication with patients, carers, and staff.
  • Problem-solving skills, including resolving issues with specimen preparation and transport.
  • Familiarity with pathology terminology and willingness to learn collection and data entry practices.
  • Unencumbered Class C Driver's License (NSW) or ability to travel to sites.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends, and travel within the operational area.
  • Ability to manage a demanding environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills with high attention to detail.
