Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Senior School Inclusive Learning team at Canberra Grammar School. As an Educational Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing inclusive and evidence-based opportunities to students with diverse learning needs.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work as part of the Inclusive Learning Department, collaborating with teaching professionals to develop and implement strategies that cater to the diverse needs of students in Years 7 – 12. This support position offers an excellent chance for a dedicated educator to grow and develop their skills in a highly effective and prestigious school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide tailored support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they have access to inclusive and evidence-based opportunities.
  • To collaborate with teaching professionals to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • To contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters the growth and development of all students.
Requirements
  • A Certificate IV in Learning Support/Disability Support or equivalent qualification; willingness to study towards one is also acceptable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with students, parents, and teaching professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills to assist in teaching effective learning behaviors to students.
  • Aptitude for learning new IT systems used by the school.
  • The ability to support the general health and well-being of students.
Additional Requirements
  • Appropriate qualifications.
  • A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card.
  • A current National Police Check.
  • Full working rights within Australia.
