Our internationally proven Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO) program helps young people develop the skills they need to thrive at home, in school, and in the community.

The program's success is evident in the lives of the 64 children and young people who have graduated from the program and were reunified with their families or placed with caring long-term carers.

As a foster carer, you will play a vital role in providing a loving and supportive environment for a young person aged 7-11. You will be part of a transformative short-term treatment foster care team and receive comprehensive initial and ongoing training and guidance.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Caring for a young person in your own home on a full-time basis for approximately 9 months or providing respite care one weekend a month
  • Providing positive reinforcement for the young person in a home environment
  • Receiving 24/7 on-call support, daily phone calls, and weekly carer support meetings

What We're Looking For

We seek individuals or couples who:

  • Have a suitable living space, including a spare bedroom
  • Can provide a loving and caring home, routine, and pass on basic life skills
  • Are willing to follow an exact program of care and be closely supervised and guided by our care team
  • Can mentor and have a good sense of humour
  • Have a solid support network
  • Have no children under three years old living in the home
  • Live in our service area
