Job Description

The Associate Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer will lead the design of electrical, instrumentation and control systems for water infrastructure projects.

  • Lead the design team to maintain quality and timeliness of project deliverables.
  • Develop detailed designs of electrical, instrumentation and control systems, focusing on LV electrical systems, including schematics, equipment layout, motor control centres and communications systems.
  • Prepare technical reports and specifications for projects.

Successful candidates will have experience in engineering design consultancy and a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with RPEQ certification (or ability to obtain).
  • 10+ years' experience in Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineering, ideally gained within the water sector or industrial plant.
  • CHAZOP experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with standards, conceptual and detailed design, and design management of electrical infrastructure.
  • Strong skills in instrumentation, controls, SCADA and LV design.
  • Applied knowledge of relevant standards including AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 3008.1.1.
  • Experience with design software such as PowerCAD is preferred.
  • Effective communication skills with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
