Fire Service Operations Specialist

We are a leading emergency service agency in Queensland, responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property across the state through effective prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities.
As an integral part of our team, you will be working closely with other emergency services to provide high-quality fire, rescue, and emergency management services to the community.
About the RoleThe Auxiliary Firefighter role is critical in supporting our operations and contributing to the delivery of emergency services. As a member of this team, you will play a key role in responding to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness, and developing competencies through regular drills and training courses.
You will be required to maintain attendance standards for emergency incidents and training, operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively, and contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.
In addition to your technical skills, we expect our Auxiliary Firefighters to demonstrate strong leadership and management behavioural competencies, including Performance through Vision, Performance through Results, and Performance through Accountability.

What You'll Need- Employers written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
- Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station
- Australian Permanent Resident Status
- Manual C Class driver's licence
As a condition of employment, you will also need to commit to attending 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours, or 30% of calls as a shift worker or have non-routine hours, and participate in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs.
Key Accountabilities- Respond to fire and other emergency incidents
- Promote community safety and emergency preparedness
- Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills and training courses
- Maintain attendance standards for emergency incidents and training
- Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively
- Contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities
- Ensure maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities
