KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and resolve technical accounting and audit challenges;
  • Conduct reviews of audit work performed;
  • Examine financial statements to ensure adherence to Accounting Standards and prepare reports and opinions for management;
  • Summarize key engagement areas for the partner;
  • Ensure each assignment is completed to a high-quality standard, within budget, and on or before deadlines;
  • Manage multiple audit engagements concurrently with various team members;
  • Negotiate fees alongside the partner and demonstrate commercial accountability for client profitability;
  • Contribute to meetings and deliver effective presentations to both staff and clients;
  • Assist in managing and coordinating the audit team, including training, mentoring, and compliance with methodologies;
  • Monitor staffing needs and plan for future resource requirements;
  • Support partners in business development and marketing initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business or Commerce with a major in Accounting
  • Completion of CA or equivalent certification
  • 5-7 years of audit experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong prioritization abilities
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Corporations Act 2001, Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards, and other relevant legislation

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in business development
