Ecological Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced Ecological Lead to join our team. As an Ecological Lead, you will be responsible for leading complex ecological assessments that shape Australia's energy transition.

The role offers the opportunity to work on projects that align with your passion for ecology while contributing to Australia's renewable energy future. You will lead the delivery of ecological assessments for major renewable energy projects, providing technical leadership and mentorship while producing high-quality reporting and outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and executing flora and fauna survey programs, delivering strategic insights that balance environmental stewardship with development goals.
  • Providing expert advice on biodiversity offsets, mitigation strategies, and rehabilitation solutions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainable development plans.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of experience in delivering ecological assessments for project development and approvals.
  • Significant expertise in leading flora and/or fauna surveys, including mapping vegetation communities and identifying rare and threatened species.
  • Strong knowledge of Queensland's regulatory frameworks and relevant Commonwealth legislation, with experience in other states highly regarded.
  • A degree in environmental science, natural resources, or a related field, meeting suitability requirements for ecological assessments.
