Scrap Metal Yard Worker

We are seeking a skilled and motivated worker to join our team at Hunter Recyclers Pty Ltd. The successful applicant will be hands-on in the day-to-day operations of our recycling yard, including sorting and upgrading metals, maintaining machinery, and assisting with scrap purchasing and sales.

This role is ideal for someone physically fit, hardworking, and eager to grow their skills within the recycling industry. Responsibilities include:

  • Sort and upgrade ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
  • Assist with purchasing and selling scrap metals.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment through daily yard cleaning and general upkeep.
  • Perform routine maintenance on plant machinery, including washing and lubricating equipment.
  • Safely handle and transport heavy objects using manual handling techniques and company-approved equipment.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions, adhering to all workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Operate company-approved equipment, including forklifts and other machinery as required.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative team environment by actively communicating with colleagues and management.

The ideal candidate will have a current HR Driver's License (or willingness to obtain upon employment) and previous experience or basic knowledge of the scrap metal industry is an advantage.
