Academic Researcher in Mechanical Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join our team at RMIT University's School of Engineering. As a key member of our department, you will contribute to the growth of teaching and research within the Department of Mechanical, Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or mechatronic engineering, systems engineering or related fields, with a proven track record of research and teaching excellence.
- As a Senior Lecturer, you will engage in and lead high-quality research projects, attract funding, and play a key role in embedding your expertise into the life of the School.
- As a Lecturer, you will be expected to actively promote the program, establish and maintain links and connections, work collaboratively with fellow academics, undertake high-quality research, and grow in your ability to attract research funding from Government agencies and industry.
- Prepare and deliver programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and produce high-quality curriculum or program materials.
- Undertake course coordination roles and supervise higher degree by research candidates.
- Build effective networks with colleagues, generate alternative funding projects, and liaise with industry and government.
- Promote student-centered learning, quality improvement, and academic leadership.
- A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver programs, coordinate courses, and supervise students.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to consult with senior executives and external bodies.
- A commitment to financial, governance, and quality management systems within a university.
