Are you a driven professional looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our team in Devonport, Tasmania. In this role, you will be responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts receivable transactions and client billing.

The successful candidate will have experience in accounts receivable and basic accounting functions, as well as proficient use of technology including MS Outlook, Excel, Aim, and Inerva. They will also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Processing accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Performing day-to-day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable data.
  • Preparing and processing all resident billing, ensuring that accounts are accurate and timely
  • Reconciling the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
  • Verifying discrepancies and resolving client billing issues, including client liaison.
  • Facilitating payment of invoices by sending bill reminders and contacting clients (debt collection) Estate management and arrangement of refunds.
  • Ensuring all resident movements are accurately recorded to enable the correct calculation of resident fees and charges
  • Generating financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status
  • Reconciling all expected funding to the monthly Medicare Payment Statements and follow-up variances
