Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Role

As an aircraft maintenance engineer – structures, you play a crucial role in ensuring the airworthiness of defence aircraft.

Production, maintenance and repair of sheet metal, bonded and non-metallic composite materials and components on aircraft are your key responsibilities.

  • Work at a standard that meets all regulatory and airworthiness requirements in an aviation environment.
  • Carry out scheduled servicing and other unscheduled maintenance as per team leader instructions.
  • Ensure maintenance and technical documentation used during maintenance is authorised for use and compliant.

Details of work performed must be correctly and promptly recorded on the correct documents, and certification obtained within required timeframes if necessary.

As an aircraft maintenance engineer – structures, you will contribute to the success of the F35 Joint Strike Fighter program and have opportunities to work within a fast-paced team environment.

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills – Structures or equivalent (mandatory).
  • Australian citizen with ability to obtain federal government security clearance (mandatory).
  • Experience or strong interest in working with defence aircraft (mandatory).

Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, are essential for this role.
