Engine Technician

We are seeking a skilled Engine Technician to join our team at Cummins Inc. in a service workshop role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing repairs and rebuilds on engine products under supervision, ensuring adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Apply documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
- Disassemble, inspect, and clean engines and/or engine components, utilizing specialized equipment and service tools.
- Assist with completion of required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Complete training in line with skill and business requirements, ensuring continuous improvement and professional development.
- Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation, adhering to company standards and regulations.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues/incidents to their supervisor.
- Communicate effectively, conveying a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
- Focus on customer satisfaction, delivering customer-centric solutions and building strong customer relationships.
- Develop and maintain technical skills, actively seeking new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels.
- Adapt approach and demeanor in real-time to match the shifting demands of different situations, ensuring situational adaptability.
- Document and verify customer, equipment, and technical information, capturing specific data using required service tools and following procedures.
- Elevate product technical issues to a higher level of expertise, balancing timeliness of customer response with investigation efforts.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues following guided workflows, procedures, and specialized equipment, isolating failed components to enable a successful repair.
- Validate repair by duplicating complaint to ensure it has been resolved, documenting results of troubleshooting in business systems.
- Identify and utilize the appropriate electronic tool set to maintain the product or diagnose and troubleshoot an issue, interpreting electronic tool results or recommendations.
- Repair and maintain mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time to ensure a quality repair.
- Interpret and analyze the interactions of internal and external electrical and mechanical systems, applying tools and service publications to efficiently and correctly diagnose and repair.
- Champion and model proactive health and safety behaviors, identifying, reporting, and participating in actions to improve health and safety in the workplace.
- Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
- Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
