Job Description:

The Director plays a critical role in shaping the City's financial strategy, supporting long-term planning and ensuring fiscal sustainability.

As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the City's finance function, including budgeting, forecasting and risk management.

You will lead by example, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability and customer service excellence across the organization.

  • Develops and implements the City's financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations and standards.
  • Manages and oversees the finance department to achieve operational efficiency, cost savings and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Planning: Develops and implements the City's financial plans and strategies to achieve its goals and objectives.
  2. Financial Management: Oversees the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
  3. Leadership: Provides guidance, direction and support to the finance team to ensure they have the necessary skills, knowledge and resources to perform their duties effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, public administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, preferably in local government.
  • CPA License
  • Experience managing staff.
