Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Education Support Specialist to provide education support in the Faculty of Engineering, a passionate leader in creating a digital, sustainable and healthier future.

This is a full-time opportunity located at Darlington Campus.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the student life cycle including enrolment, special considerations, appeals, exams etc for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Providing targeted support to large units and/or specific highly productive academics.
  • Working on ad-hoc projects for schools.
  • Assisting with committees and working with relevant professional staff and academic roles to support Engineering students.
  • Providing high level support and assistance in relation to course management and students across our coursework programs as well as academic staff.

  • A tertiary qualification with some relevant work experience; and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
  • Effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) together with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods.
  • Excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes.
  • Superior computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office (in particular Excel) together with experience operating with large, corporate-level database and information systems.
  • Experience delivering education programmes, preferably in a tertiary education environment.
  • Experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of using Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, together with sound understanding of timetabling/rostering of student activities.
