About the Role

As a strategic finance director, you will be responsible for leading project origination activities to secure and close project finance transactions. You will build relationships with clients and other departments within the organization to drive business growth.

The role involves working closely with sector leads to arrange and execute project financing transactions, including hedging, loan syndication, FX, bonding, and advisory services. You will also drive the Originate to Distribute strategy in conjunction with the Debt Capital Markets team.

To succeed in this role, you will need strong business acumen, financial knowledge, and project management skills. You should have experience in credit analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management. A leadership background, providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff, is also essential.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in banking and finance, with a focus on project finance. They will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to influence others, and strong MS Office capabilities, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with Sector Leads to market, arrange, and execute project financing transactions
  • Driving MUFG's Originate to Distribute strategy
  • Ensuring new transactions comply with MUFG's credit policies
  • Managing all credit matters, including credit papers, modelling, negotiation of terms, finalisation of documentation, and due diligence
  • Liaising with MUFG's local, regional, and international networks
  • Promoting alliances with MUFG group companies in the project finance market
  • Improving MUFG's profile in the project finance market
  • Providing leadership to junior staff
