Job Opportunity:

  • About the Role:
  1. We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to fill a senior position within our economic development team. This role will be responsible for leading and managing strategic projects aimed at increasing economic growth, employment, investment, and services in Mandurah.
  2. The successful candidate will have strong business acumen and be able to develop and implement effective strategies to increase awareness of Mandurah as an attractive investment location.
  3. This includes facilitating the delivery of our economic development strategies through designated projects, programs, research, and analysis.
  4. Liaise with public and private sector partners to ensure coordination of activities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive economic growth and development in Mandurah.
  • Lead and manage teams to deliver high-profile projects and initiatives that contribute to our vision of 'Woven by waterways, a city that is thriving and connected to its people and nature.'
  • Promote Mandurah as a desirable destination for investment and tourism through targeted marketing campaigns and stakeholder engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, government representatives, and community groups.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for growth and development, and develop strategies to capitalize on these opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or qualification in a field such as business, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated professional experience of at least 3 years in economic development, business development, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of local and state government policies and regulations related to economic development.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative approach, with a willingness to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in working with data and analytics tools to inform decision-making and drive results.
